What Does A HVAC Technician Really Do?

They are the rock stars of the HVAC industry and without them … well … there would be no industry, at least not in the way we know it. We simply call them HVAC technicians, but they are much more than that. They are the face of our business because that is primarily who our customers see and interact with face-to-face.

Here at Mast Heating & Cooling, we are super-proud of our technicians and consider them to be the best the Zeeland, MI, and surrounding areas have to offer. When we dispatch them to your home for HVAC maintenance or repair, we pledge they will arrive on time, ready to handle all your heating and cooling needs.

With that said, we know that our customers often wonder what our HVAC technicians really do when they come to your home to service your system. As we are hurtling into the Western Michigan summer days, let’s take a closer look at an AC tune-up and what our technicians will do:

INSPECTION

First, our technician will perform a thorough inspection of your air conditioner. He will look for signs of wear and tear, check the refrigerant levels and also inspect the drain pans for any leaks.

CLEANING

Our technician will basically clean whatever area of your AC that needs it, including condenser coils, air filters, and ductwork.

SERVICE/REPAIRS

This is where scheduling regular HVAC maintenance and an AC tune-up can save you money and headache. If our technician finds an issue that needs immediate attention – such as a refrigerant leak or a worn-out or broken part – they can resolve the issue on the spot, either with repair or replacement. The technician can also advise you to schedule more extensive service or may also recommend that you consider HVAC replacement—if necessary.

Our HVAC technicians do much more than what we talked about here today, but we think that was a good snapshot of an AC tune-up call. Here at Mast Heating & Cooling, we also want to remind you that regular maintenance is always the first place to start in taking care of your system. It will detect any issues that could become bigger problems and will also keep your system running smoothly. This is important as the dog days of summer approach, so give us a call today to schedule your HVAC maintenance. And ask about our Comfort Club when you do!
